The company "ArtFrezer" provides services for milling MDF facades in Moscow on CNC machines. MDF is a widely used material based on natural wood shavings. It is widely used in repair and construction due to improved properties and characteristics in comparison with natural wood. In the production of MDF, chips of a certain size are pressed strongly using a binder - usually using urea resins.

The finished MDF board keeps everything positive sides natural wood, but at the same time surpasses wood in a number of indicators due to increased strength. In addition, the homogeneous structure of the material facilitates the processing, also on CNC milling machines.

Advantages of facade milling

CNC milling is often used in the production furniture facades. Skillfully processed MDF boards have excellent properties and are able to transform any room. Similar design options using milled MDF fronts can often be seen in modern kitchens.

A huge number of MDF processing options allows you to create a wide range of designer furniture, increasing its final cost, but at the same time practically without spending money on reconfiguring production. It is enough for a CNC machine to load a vector drawing into the program, set up the system and after a while get the finished product. And since modern machines are capable of simultaneously milling several blanks at once, the speed of production of designer facades for furniture will be enormous, and the cost of the part will only decrease with an increase in the batch.

Milling machines

For milling facades in Moscow is used modern equipment: CNC machines ARTISMAN-S3204 and similar in quality and production capabilities equipment. Such machines are capable of: milling MDF boards, solid wood and many other materials; to make carving and turning of any complexity; carry out cutting of various sheet materials, including the cut of MDF boards; engrave, decorative carving, in other ways to decorate the treated surface.

Stages of facade milling

The surface milling work is carried out in several stages, during which corners, surfaces and edges of the necessary appearance. Depending on the number of cutters used by the machine and the direction of their movement, work can occur in a different sequence.

Milling is not the last stage of work on MDF facades. They are sent to further production, where membrane-vacuum treatment is performed. Next comes the stage of cleaning the surface and puttying, after which the elements of the facades become perfectly even and smooth to the touch. To increase the service life of the surface, a film is stretched from above, which at the same time performs decorative functions.

When milling at the corners of the MDF panel, the thickness cutting edge varies in the range from 2 to 10 millimeters, depending on the thickness of the workpiece. When processing corners the main objective- remove sharp details, round off corners, give them a more pleasant appearance and prevent chips from further production. Milling the surface of MDF boards used for the manufacture of facades is carried out solely to decorate the surface and improve the appearance of finished furniture.

The cost of the services provided

IN modern world, facades of kitchen and other furniture are mainly made of modern materials. However, typical options do not always correspond to the individual style. Using CNC machines, you can easily make carved facades in your own unique style. The use of CNC machines is an excellent solution for simulating wood carving.
The use of CNC machines with shaped and V-shaped cutters for wood will make it possible to produce carved elements of facades, panels, monograms, balusters, as well as picture frames and other interior items.
In ArtCAM, you can produce a product design using various processing strategies. Imitation of wood carving is most quickly performed using the processing strategy - "Engraving on the center line". And by visualizing the design, you can get an accurate 3D representation of the finished product.
Below is an example of the development of a control program in ArtCAM for the manufacture of a facade with imitation of wood carving using a machining strategy
"Engraving on the middle line".
Used as a basis furniture board dimensions 800x300x20mm.

Launch ArtCam and create new model: File -> New -> Model…
In the window that opens, Figure 1, enter the dimensions of the furniture board.

Picture 1.

In the second step, we create the contour of a pseudo-panel using a shaped cutter (if you are satisfied with a clean facade without a panel, then this step can be skipped).
On the "Edit Vectors" panel, select the "Create Rectangle" icon, Figure 2.

Figure 2.

In the window that opens, Figure 3, we enter the parameters of the necessary contours of the panel (first the external, then the internal by repeated operation).

Figure 3

The dimensions and relative position of the constructed vectors should be chosen taking into account the dimensions of the used cutter.
For the constructed vectors, we create a processing control program using the "Processing along Vectors" strategy. To do this, select the tab "UP" -> "Processing along Vectors", Figure 4.

Figure 4

In this case, the cutter will move along the selected vector, the tool center will move along the selected vector.
We select the required vector and set the parameters, Figure 5.
As a tool, we set the used profile cutter, if there is no required tool in the database, then we create a new one or edit one of the existing cutters.

Figure 5

We select the second vector and create a control program for the second vector.
We save the received control programs in the sequence of program execution we need, Figure 6.

Figure 6

The photo below shows the result of executing the resulting control program for a CNC machine.

Next, we create in ArtCam or import vectors for processing the central part of the facade (in this case we import), Figures 7 and 8.

For high-quality milling and engraving of parts and blanks of MDF facades along the plane and profile, woodworking milling machines with CNC (computer numerical control) are used. When choosing a new CNC machine for the production of MDF facades, you should familiarize yourself with its main characteristics and select the optimal set of options so as not to overpay for excess and use high-tech equipment with maximum efficiency.

Working area of CNC machines

dimensions milling machine or CNC machining center should be known, first of all, for the most rational placement in industrial premises. It is necessary to take into account not only the dimensions of the desktop, but also the placement of related equipment (vacuum pump, electrical cabinet with a control unit, aspiration systems), as well as approaches for bringing material and placing finished products.

When choosing the area and dimensions directly desktop it is worth considering what functions the CNC machine will perform in the production cycle (either it will be the processing of small parts, or the full cycle of manufacturing parts from a wide-format sheet of MDF board - nesting); dimensions of the material being processed (including solid wood, draft or laminated MDF, chipboard, chipboard, plastic, etc.); as well as the expected production volumes and workload of other equipment of the enterprise.

Type of fixation of workpieces on the desktop of the CNC machine

Manufacturers of CNC machines for MDF facades currently offer three types of fixing parts on the desktop: mechanical, using vacuum and combined. Mechanical fixing method based on the use of special clamping mechanisms, such as clamps. This method is most effective when processing small parts or when processing parts for a long time, for example, when engraving.

Vacuum the best way suitable for holding wide MDF, chipboard or plastic boards. For the convenience of using the vacuum table of a CNC milling machine, some manufacturers divide it into several zones that turn on and off under the control of solenoid valves. Thus, when processing a small workpiece, the power of the vacuum pump is not consumed on the entire table, but on its separate section, allowing atmospheric pressure to hold the workpiece more firmly.

Combined tables are equipped both for the vacuum method of fixation, and for the mechanical one.

Axis of CNC milling machine

The axes of a CNC milling machine are called the directions of movement of the working body (spindle) in the coordinate system XYZ . For a typical production of MDF facades, a three-axis CNC milling machine is quite sufficient, in which the spindle with the working cutter moves along the axes X , Y and Z . For processing radius facades of MDF and other products from the end sides, as well as for grooving MDF or chipboard with circular saws, the machine can be equipped with a spindle with a rotary mechanism of rotation around the axes X or Y , or combined.

In addition, for milling radius MDF facades, CNC equipment manufacturers offer milling machines with circular movement of the table and the workpiece fixed to it around a horizontal axis. Thus, the movement of the cutter occurs only along two axes, and the third axis of the table allows you to achieve the effect of machining with a 4-axis CNC machine.

Type of guides, electric motors and transmission

As a rule, the mobile working mechanisms of CNC woodworking milling machines are mounted on linear bearings and profile rail guides. On small machines it is possible to use cylindrical guides.

The electric motors of the CNC machine for positioning the working cutter can be used both with step feed and with a servo drive. In budget CNC machines, as a rule, are used stepper motors. Servo drives They have many advantages, however, they are much more expensive.

For movement along the X, Y axis on large-format CNC woodworking machines, helical-rack is mainly used, and along the axis Z - ball screw.

Spindle for CNC

In addition to different capacities, manufacturers of CNC milling machines can offer an air-cooled or water-cooled spindle. Water cooling Recommended for use in heavily polluted areas high loads to the milling unit motor. air cooling with a sufficient level of aspiration, it is quite suitable for processing MDF, including under long-term loads, especially if the engine has some power reserve.

In the CNC machine market, you can find models with multiple spindles that allow you to process several parts at the same time, or to process them one by one using different cutters or processing methods. This can save a lot production time, power consumption and improve productivity and production efficiency.

The company has two new high precision milling machines. The dimensions of the working tables are 1300 * 2500 mm. The machines can be used to mill MDF sheets with an accuracy of 0.01 mm.

The machines are equipped with modern electronics - CNC controllers (computer numerical control), and their work can be done in a fully automatic mode. The machines are equipped with 4.5 kilowatt spindles with effective air cooling, due to which a high rotation speed is achieved - 24,000 rpm.

This speed allows you to quickly mill plywood sheets with a thickness of 70 mm. starting material for the manufacture of the bed and the portal served as a durable steel profile, whose thickness is 9.50 mm. Due to the large mass of metal parts, all vibrations that occur during the operation of the machine are effectively damped.

Prices for CNC MDF milling are indicated in Russian rubles without VAT per linear meter, excluding the cost of the material. The cost of milling is calculated as the sum of the lengths of all cut lines in the layout in meters, multiplied by the cost of 1 meter with the corresponding thickness of the material.

Competently adjusted speed modes guarantee obtaining an almost perfect edge without traces of burning, with no chips or burrs. The machines have a special Tool sensor option that sets the spindle to "0" in the Z-coordinate. In this case, the thickness of the workpiece is determined automatically.

MDF partitions for zoning free space in an apartment or office

Most often MDF milling on machines equipped with modern electronic control, it is used for the manufacture of decorative partitions. These products often require additional one- or two-sided painting after milling. To determine the color, the RAL palette is used, containing 213 primary colors.

Optionally, it is possible to give the painted surfaces the effects of mother-of-pearl or metallic. At will, the client of our company is free to choose any partition design they like from the 40 proposed. Our collection includes partitions of any shape, configuration (composite or solid), with or without lighting, inlays, and any size.

MDF properties

Otherwise, MDF is called a fibreboard. The material is characterized by medium density, combining such characteristics as high strength (surpassing the strength of chipboard by 1.8 times at least), release of formaldehyde in quantities safe for human health, ease of cutting when working with cutting tools.

The starting material for the production of MDF is small wood chips, which are subject to further pressing. Among the advantages of MDF boards, you can confidently include ease of processing and grinding, as well as fast and high-quality milling. It is possible to purchase MDF boards with one- or two-sided lamination. Such plates are marked with the abbreviation LMDF.

MDF classification

There are 2 main criteria: by class and type of issue. The emission class carries information about the amount of formaldehyde emitted by a 100 gram MDF fragment. For class E1, this value does not exceed 10 mg / 100 grams. For E2 - no more than 30 mg / 100 grams. The grade indicates the quality of the surface of the MFD boards. Samples of the 1st grade do not have chips, stains, defects and scratches at all. For slabs of the 2nd grade, the presence of subtle chips, grinding defects and scratches is acceptable. The length of the latter should not exceed 2.0 cm with a maximum depth of 0.30 mm.

Dimensions

MDF partitions of any size can be made to order. The most popular size is 2800x2070 mm.

Thickness

It is possible to get plates from 6.0 to 30 mm thick from us. Most often, partitions are ordered with thicknesses from 16 to 18 mm.

Scope of application

The use of MDF is not limited to partitions for zoning rooms. The material is actively used in the production of commercial equipment and advertising structures, for the manufacture of entrance and interior doors, exhibition stands, etc. MDF is also in demand in the field of vacuum molding - special molds are made from it.

Features of milling MDF

For a number of technical reasons, laser cutting is not suitable for MDF, but this material is easily amenable to mechanical milling. In the process of separating the material with a cutting tool, dust is generated, which, unlike chips, can be easily removed. Due to the high viscosity and elasticity, MDF blanks do not crumble during processing. Modern milling machines with electronic control allow you to obtain products with contours of any complexity. Kitchen furniture and door facades made in this way look especially impressive.

Milling of MDF door facades

MDF properties and Newest technologies milling contributes greatly to the increase in demand for custom-made kitchen furniture. Moreover, the order involves not only an indication of the size of the furniture, but also the unique design of the facade. Thanks to this, the kitchen, decorated with beautiful and voluminous patterns, creates a unique and wonderful homely atmosphere.
