"Ways-roads". life path metaphor

From the author : The themes of destination, the search for one's true path are leading in regression therapy. By asking such questions in a trance state, you can get very colorful and metaphorical answers. After all, as you know, the language of the unconscious is allegorical and symbolic.

So, at the trance session devoted to the problem of choosing one's own path, the client stated a very interesting description life directions. This information was not loaded with personal experiences and is a fairly universal typology of life choices. Therefore, with the permission of the client, I decided to publish a piece of the session in this article. At the same time, I would like each of the readers to think about the question: “What is right for me? Which development path do I choose?

So, the client in a trance state got into the space of a meeting with mentors:

“Client: I see a table. There is supposedly a mirror on the table, but this mirror personifies the lake: jagged edges, blue color. And there are many mentors. There are five or seven of them. I can't count. All in white. I see everything vaguely, I can’t make out the faces, everyone is in hoods. They throw me bundles on the table like five tracks. These are five ways. It feels like these are five alternatives in my life. I can't figure out who they are. The answer is: advice. I look at the leftmost bundle: red signs that look like hieroglyphs. This is the way of the samurai.

Therapist: What does the way of the samurai mean?

Client: Dedication. The way of the samurai is asceticism. There is no place for families and children here. This path can be mine if something happens in life, if there are losses.

Second bundle. Blue signs. Like drops of water. This is the path of trust. I see a man, a woman of Asian appearance. She folds her hands in prayer and falls on her back with her arms outstretched. This is the path of complete trust. When you can trust the world. This does not mean “go with the flow”, no, but it means to trust. It's like flying. And the main thing here is just to surrender to life and stay in weightlessness. Because when the rational brain is turned on, a hard fall will follow.

There is also the path of the lotus. He is pink. This is a difficult path. The lotus is a flower that grows out of the mud, but the mud does not settle on it. It's very hard to stay clean in the mud. The lotus path is a path that requires very great strength. This is the path when a person is not given inheritance, appearance, strength and money from birth. Such a person lives in a medium-low income and achieves everything on his own, and then opens like a lotus flower into a full-fledged beautiful personality. I see that my flower grows up to the sky. There can be a very big climb along this path. My lotus reaches for the sky, reaches for God.

There is a completely empty scroll. He's in the middle. I have to write what I want in this life.

Therapist: And the fifth way?

Client: This is the way of contracts. Agreements with higher powers. This can be either selling the soul to the Devil, or following the signs of spirits, as in shamanism. We ourselves choose those with whom to have an agreement.

In a specific case, the client recognized his path, which was given at birth - this is the path of the lotus. But he also concluded that the task for this life is to bring the experience of the road of trust. This path is not developed at all in the client's life, the client does not even understand how to live harmoniously, trusting the Universe. Speaking in metaphors, the path of trust is a new organ in the client's body, it remains to be seen how to pump up this muscle and, most importantly, start using it.

I am very interested in which path you have chosen in the proposed list.

Antonina- I tried trance methods on myself for the first time. Feelings certainly can not be expressed in words. I felt my body in a different way, I felt some vibrations, energy, something that I had never felt in this life. The session gave me a lot, I finally understood what I need to do in this life, I now know why I am the way I am. This amazing journey lives on in my memory and has connections with my life. Thank you very much Julia for the work done, for the warmth and empathy.

Kirill- I called Yulia because of my interest in past reincarnations. Julia immediately asked: "Kirill, what do you want to know specifically? Do you have a request?" I was in a hurry. I was just curious to know who I was in past life. But Julia insisted: "You could be anyone. But what will this knowledge give? Perhaps you have some kind of question or an unresolved problem? Go to the session with him. After all, the more specific the question, the clearer the answer." I thought. I sketched 3-4 problems in the Questionnaire and came to the session. I got into the life of an animal! I was a wolf and roamed the forest in search of prey. I answered many of my questions about loneliness, about doing business tough, about relationships with women. Julia helped me figure out what I saw. I am grateful to Julia for her help and support.

Anastasia- I turned to Julia to understand what my purpose is. I had already completed my studies at the institute, but I was unsure of my choice. I knew that there was a choice of work. But what? I took career guidance tests at one time, but the results of these tests only confused me, since I was interested in something completely different. I came to Yulia for past life regression in order to understand my destiny. I saw an absolutely creative past life. I was a male artist. And I realized that I have a huge choice. I can do anything! The main thing is to bring creativity into your actions, to do work not according to a template, but consciously! Now I understand better what I want. Thanks to Julia for the regression.

Elena- In working with Yulia, I feel in her what is called "my" therapist. When a person goes on a journey - an exploration of his inner world, into a space where he often feels vulnerable, a guide is needed, a person who would subtly and unobtrusively accompany you. The one who travels needs to constantly feel friendly support and sympathy, no matter what story unfolds inside! This is how I feel when Julia accompanies me in past life regressions or life between lives as a therapist! I feel very at ease with her and I can fully focus my attention on what I need to understand about myself and hear what my soul wants to tell me, without being distracted by self-defense. I know that I can always ask for advice or get a new one. a fresh look to a difficult situation. I like that Julia is attentive, professional and has a subtle flair.

Svetlana- What do I like about Julia's work? She very carefully approaches any issue, dismantles everything on the shelves, penetrates to the very depths of the problem. Her way of working is very gentle, not intrusive. I am very grateful for the regressions carried out with me, my eyes were opened to many things. And I am very glad that they went just like that - in a soft, comfortable form. Of course, regression will not solve all your problems, but it will give the key to understanding and awareness of many things, understanding the causes of existing problems and show ways to solve these problems. And it is very important who exactly will be your guide to this amazing space of a past life or life between lives. It is important to get to a truly professional who will sincerely want to help you and do everything right.

Natalia- Julia is a very good and competent specialist who is constantly growing and improving her psychological skills. It helps to better understand yourself and your problems and move towards their solution. Julia is an attentive and delicate specialist who subtly feels the state of the client and is able to quickly "feel" the problem, as well as suggest ways to solve it. Working with Julia is pleasant and comfortable, she is always ready to help and arrange a meeting for a consultation as quickly as possible.

Yana- Hello Yulia. I really like your articles. It's nice that you write honestly and your real experience is felt. In your articles I find important points for myself and it is interesting to think about the topics you set) Special thanks for the article about death. Although I have not tried regressions and am slightly wary of this mystical method, the topic of death is very important and I still do not see a worthy solution in the psychological concept - and your article is like a sip fresh air on this topic. And it also seems to me that you are a kind of shaman or shaman :) and it is very close to me that psychological concepts are complemented by spiritual, mystical experiences :) Because modern psychology has developed a scientific base only up to some boundaries beyond which spiritual growth begins. I will continue to follow your posts with interest :)

Irina - I want to thank Yuliya from the bottom of my heart for her work and support. I turned to her at a very difficult critical moment in my life, my beloved husband died and I was looking for any way to understand for myself how and why this happened to us. Quite by accident, I came across Yulia's book about death, the book itself had already had a calming effect on me, and after reading it, I was already absolutely sure of my desire to personally meet Yulia. And I am very glad that this meeting took place, Yulia turned out to be an excellent listener, a very responsive girl, a wonderful guide to the endless world of the soul, past lives, mentors, totem animals and other amazing knowledge and powers. I not only received answers to all the questions that tormented me, but also took a fresh look at myself and the events in my life and the lives of the people around me. I remember the amazing feeling after falling into a trance, when I saw myself in the mirror and did not immediately recognize it. My close people also noted a change in my emotional state, I literally came to life after that meeting, and for all this I thank Yulia. I do not want anyone to go through the experience that I experienced, but I can say that after working with Yulia, I can say with confidence that everything in our life is not accidental, and when you understand the reason for the events, even the most difficult and terrible, it becomes much easier accept and experience them. Julia thank you so much for your sensitivity, responsiveness and care that you surround from the very first minute of the meeting!

Any path is just one of a million possible paths. Therefore, a warrior must always remember that the path is only the path; if he feels that he does not like it, he must leave it at all costs. Any path must be looked at directly and without hesitation. (Carlos Castaneda)

The road resembles our life, life is a constant movement and everyone has their own, like the road.

Bridge. Sergey, 35 years old. Selects a picture with a road that reminds him of his own life at the moment.

Beautiful forged fences remind of restrictions, rules, unshakable dogmas - cold, hard, clear. But at the same time they are beautiful! It attracts, gives a sense of the correctness of what is happening to you. It also resembles parental settings. “Be the best, be the first! Strive to take your place, because there are competitors around who are just waiting for your mistake. Only rectilinear movement according to the rules, no prospects ahead. There is a sense of looming problems. And somewhere beyond the limits there is another unfamiliar, but wonderful Life, disordered but enticing.

I used to always be the first - I drew best of all and performed at holidays in kindergarten, took first place in competitions in sports school, passed the final exams best of all in the class ... Now I work in a very prestigious company and I am already getting to the highest level career ladder. My parents are proud of me. My father always emphasized that I have an excellent heredity and excellent abilities, that I have no right to vegetate and be gray. Now I doubt the correctness of his words. I'm actually sick of my job, I'm tired and I want to be just an ordinary person - allow myself to give up what I don't want to do, make mistakes, sometimes relax and just do nothing. I'm tired of pretending that I'm the best.

And if you could choose your own path, what would it look like?

Winding, uneven, there are many obstacles on the way, high and frightening from afar. But she deftly bends around them, stripes of bright light and shadow fall on the road. The road meanders and tends upward, and it is noticeable that something new, bright, and interesting awaits behind the forest. Yes, I would like to live as if no one expects me to become successful, influential ... (thinks). Maybe then I would like to?

Break. Daniel is 18 years old. Selects an image in response to the request "Show me what your life is like today?"

My life now is a movement along a cliff - you stumble and that's it. And there is no other way, nothing depends on me. I go, I carry my luggage like a donkey. And I feel danger all the time - life is dangerous, people are evil, I'm afraid that if I approach my fellow travelers, they will push me. Just because it's easy to do. Ahead, I see that the road goes down, and this is logical! Up is scary, but down is not so painful to fall. As a child, I was always inspired - “It is worth stumbling once, choosing the wrong decision, and that’s it, life will roll downhill, you won’t get out. Take care of your honor from a young age. The word is not a sparrow - you won’t catch it flying out. And a meaningful look, saying - "If you do it your way, you will be mistaken for sure!"

How would you like to? Choose the one you like. Which way would be comfortable to go?

,

This is the picture I like.
The snow is so sparkling and clean. It is difficult to rearrange the legs, but on the other hand, I myself can choose where to lay my path, it is only mine! There is no one around, and I am calm, because no one evaluates, no one indicates, and (pause) no one will betray.

Cold choice. Tatyana is 53 years old.

I hate my job. This picture is probably closer to me than others. She is black and white, bleak, summer is long behind, and ahead is only cold and slush. And I, just as lonely, stand and do not know what to choose. To leave my old job where I feel like a small cog in a ruthless huge mechanism? I feel like I'm not doing well, I forget to do what's important, I miss details, I get scolded... I hate everything. And in the morning I go back to work. Or should I choose another? Most recently, I was offered a position in a related field, but there I will have to lead, take responsibility for others. They think I can do it, but I don't feel strong, and leadership has never appealed to me. It's hard for me to choose. I am oppressed by the very need to make a decision.

What road inspires you, where would you like to be?

This is where you really want to be. This is such a fruitful time, there are so many opportunities! You can collect beautiful bouquets of colorful leaves, you can walk holding hands. It is impossible to walk along such a road and not meet anyone, someone close, dear, someone with whom you can gather mushrooms together, drink tea with viburnum jam. Do you know that viburnum has heart-shaped bones? The children grew up and went on their own. Divorced from her husband. I do not have enough spiritual warmth, a person who would be next to me, with whom I could share my life. Now I understand that there is no importance in choosing a job, I feel bad because I am alone. But if I decide to change jobs, then I will allow changes in my life, new team, new people…

The beginning of therapy is an opportunity to change your beaten path, to choose a new direction, and for this you need a pause, time to reflect, to talk about what is happening, what you would like to bring into your life. The metaphor may be different, but it always helps to start a dialogue.

Explanatory note.

According to the definition of the dictionary: “Metaphor (from the ancient Greekμεταφορά - "transfer", "figurative meaning") - a word or expression used in a figurative meaning, which is based on a hidden comparison of an object with some other on the basis of their common feature. Metaphorical associative cards are rapidly gaining popularity among psychologists. They are a set of pictures. The picture can be either drawn or a photograph. The picture can depict people, animals, plants, species and natural phenomena or an abstract drawing. In some sets of cards, in addition to pictures, there may also be cards with words.

In the same picture, you can see a completely different meaning, different images. Likewise in different time working with cards, the same person can put different meanings into the same card. This makes the use of metaphorical cards universal and allows you to work with one deck. The range of application of metaphorical associative cards in group and individual work with adults and children is huge. Metaphorical associative cards are effectively used in psychodrama, gestalt therapy, art therapy, transactional analysis and psychosynthesis.

The first such deck of cards was created in 1975 by Eli Raman, a Canadian art history professor. He wanted to take art out of the galleries and bring it closer to the people. The deck of cards is calledOh"(interjection in English language denoting surprise). Together with psychotherapist Joe Schlichter, rules and principles were developed for using cards as psychological tool. In 1983, Eli Raman met Moritz Egetmeyer, who saw in the OH cards a long-sought tool with which to push the client to a frank conversation about himself and his problems. The cards were enthusiastically received by professionals in the helping professions (psychologists, social educators, psychotherapists and social workers), and a wide range of those interested in self-knowledge and self-development.

Thus, the use of metaphorical associative maps in the process of rendering psychological help- this is another key that opens access to the unconscious, allowing with sufficient clarity to identify not only the client's problem, but also help him find a new, effective solution that suits him completely. Now xI would like to elaborate on my use of metaphorical associative maps in practical work psychological support for teachers.

Lesson progress

Greetings. Formulation of the problem.

Psychologist : Dear colleagues! Every person throughout his life, strive for something: success, recognition, material well-being, strives for the realization of goals, desires, strives for love, happiness, strives for power and much more. We set goals, achieve them, striving for perfection, we often forget about ourselves.Today you and I have a unique opportunity to realize the importance of harmony between all spheres of a person's life, to activate the processes of self-knowledge, to realize the level of one's claims.

Introduction of rules of interaction in the group.

Target: define rules for effective work in a group.

Run time: 5 minutes. (see Attachment)

Stage 1 - game - Acquaintance “One, maybe two… ».

Target . Emotional charging, development of the ability to understand one's emotional state, correction of self-acceptance.

Time: 20 minutes.

Content. Metaphorical cards are laid out in front of the group members with pictures up, teachers are invited to look at all metaphorical cards and choose two. The first choice of the metaphorical card “I am a woman”, the second choice “I am a teacher”, which reflect you in these roles at the moment, i.e. who are you (personal and personal - professional characteristic) how you feel, feel, your mood. And present yourself.

Discussion . After the presentation, you can lead a discussion by asking the following questions:

What would you like to change about yourself?

What do you like about yourself?

What psychological qualities of a person and character traits would you like to acquire if you had such an opportunity right now?

Are these two characteristics similar or different? Are they comfortable in the neighborhood or not?

Stage 2 - Main.

The practical part of this stage is translated into a small monologue of a psychologist about the fact that in the work of a teacher it is impossible to distinguish between personal and professional. There is a lot of professionalism in what and how we tell children, how we react to various situations, what actions we perform, and no less - personal characteristics, values, preferences. The study of one's personality, the desire for its self-improvement is a powerful resource for professional development.

Target : modeling, comprehension of the image (metaphor) of the life path, contributes to immersion in one's own experiences and actualizes life meanings.

Time: 30 minutes.

Tasks . Involvement in the reflective process; polyphonic perception of the world; creation of a voluminous, rich in colors image of one's own "I"; development of empathy.

Self-knowledge game "My life path".

Teacher-psychologist: knowledge about the world is infinite, just as knowledge about oneself is infinite.

Recommended sets of metaphorical cards : "A tree as an image of a person", "Ways-roads", "EKKO", "Spectromaps", "Overcoming", "Law of Attraction"."From the Chest of the Past", "Sarah", "Oh", "Morena", "The Power of Time".

Procedure.

Teachers are invited to use cards from different sets to answer the following questions:

1. This is my goal. Is this what I'm aiming for? : "EKKO" (cards are drawn blindly or openly).

2. My desired state. What will I be when I reach my goal?Recommended set of metaphorical cards : "A tree as an image of a person" (cards are drawn openly).

2. The road leading to the goal. What roads need to be traveled to reach the goal?Recommended set of metaphorical cards : "Ways-roads" (cards are drawn blindly or openly).

3. My obstacles. What's stopping me on my way?Recommended set of metaphorical cards : "Overcoming", word cards from the "Ways-roads" sets,"From the chest of the past", "Sarah". (cards are drawn blindly).

4. My resources. Create a metaphor for defeating a problem, come up with a positive metaphor.Recommended set of metaphorical cards : "Spectromaps","Morena", "The Power of Time", “She” (cards are drawn blindly or openly).

The work is done in pairs. In a free interview situation, each participant tells his partner about himself, based on the created image of his life path.

Discussion . After the game, you can have a discussion by asking the participants selectively the following questions:

Why did you choose this metaphorical card? What element on it attracted attention and what is important for you at each stage?

What was the most difficult part of this game for you? The most interesting?

What surprised you? Upset? Pleased?

What new things have you learned about yourself? About others?

What metaphorical ideas about life seemed to you the most accurate and deep?

Did you manage to feel another person, join his metaphorical outlook on life?

What experience did you gain as a result of this game?

Participants share their emotional experiences when they talked about themselves and when they listened to their partner.

In other words, there is always something to discover in a person to others and to himself!

Stage 3 - conclusion .

Exercise "I'm like a miracle"

Time: 30 minutes.

Target:building a positive self-image throughcreative self-expression.

Necessary materials:

glass bottles, vases (any vessels from clear glass);

colorful saltto fill the vessel; salt dough for making cork, for a vessel, musical accompaniment.

Teacher - psychologist: Choose a glass vessel that you like the shape of. In front of you lies a multi-colored filler. Let's pretend that we are the vessel. Fill your vessel with fillers as you please. Reflecting in a metaphorical way those positive qualities, thoughts with which everyone filled his vessel, through color, shape, images.

Teacher - psychologist: Put in a vessel of patience,

Add two handfuls of generosity

Put a heart full of love in it,

Sprinkle with kindness

Put in a lot of humor.

And add as much faith as possible.

Decorate with happiness and joy as you like.

And share this miracle with everyone who meets on your way!

After that, a discussion is held: why exactly does the “artist” see his vessel, what did he want to depict?

Exercise "Sign from above"

Time: 5 minutes.

Purpose: development of empathy skills, positive feedback.

There is a law of attraction. But we will learn to attract only the good.

Participants blindly draw a metaphorical card from the chest with the words: “I attract only good…”.

Reflection :

Our lesson is over. If we return to the topic, “The path to yourself!”, then I would like to say that there is no limit to our path either. We with you in constant motion. Achieving a goal opens up new horizons ahead. Perfection has no limits! I wish you success in your professional and life path!

Dear colleagues, no need to open a new chapter from Monday. Open a new chapter now!

Watch and think, think and watch.

Summary of the lesson. Feedback

Time: 10 minutes

Teachers are invited to answer the following questions in a free form:

1. Why was this lesson useful for you? What new did you learn?

2. What was especially interesting and important for you in the assignments? Explain why.

Now remember the whole thing. What do you think the exercises are for? What do you feel now, what emotions prevail?

Rules for working with associative cards in a group:

Spontaneity. Group work goes better if the players react to the chosen card spontaneously, using their imagination rather than logic. Avoid long monologues and philosophizing. Provide an opportunity for all participants to join the game.

Respect and acceptance of choice. While playing, we respect other participants and take care of their comfort and safety. The player can refuse the drawn card, showing it to other participants or not, and also choose another card without any explanation.

. Copyright. In the game, we value someone else's intelligence and imagination. Refrain from interpreting or reinterpreting another player's cards. There are no "wrong" answers or stories. Please do not interrupt other participants and do not interrupt them.

Tolerance. We respect and value other people's opinions. I won't argue about your interpretation. But I can ask a question about her to clarify what I don't understand. So I can understand you better. And I will support you the best I can.

Personal boundaries. In play, we value each other's individuality and our differences. Playing cards, I admit that what you see and feel is not what I see and feel.

Having passed half of earthly life,
I found myself in a dark forest
Lost the right path in the darkness of the valley
(Dante. Divine Comedy. Translation by M. Lozinsky)

The road is a universal metaphor for a person's life path. In my consultations, I have often encountered the fact that people spontaneously begin to describe their current or past life stage like a road. And often this metaphor is more accurate than many words. It is convenient to use such a metaphor as a way of understanding a person's life path. And sometimes I invite my clients to imagine the main stages of their lives in the form of different roads. This can be done both in the imagination and through special cards. Such a view often helps to see some general patterns and trends. Often this opens up a lot of opportunities for understanding the current problem. This can be especially useful in situations where a person feels lost and disoriented - he does not know where to go next. This is an important question, one of the main ones in life, and to answer it you often need to look into the past: where did a person go before that? Where has he already been? How satisfied is he with the path he has taken?

In this article, I would like to give a quick overview of the symbolic meaning of the road.

In the most general sense, a road links various points in space. Today, archaeologists date the very first roads to the fourth millennium BC and associate their appearance with the development of wheeled and pack (that is, using the resources of people and animals) transport. Look at one of the preserved Inca roads to Machu Picchu (the territory of modern Peru):

It can be seen that this road was of very high quality for its time. Before the construction of such roads, there should have been more simply equipped paths between different villages. That is, roads have accompanied mankind for many thousands of years. And everything that accompanies the lives of all people for many thousands of years gradually becomes something deeply internal for each person, Carl Jung called such images archetypal. And the image of the road is also an archetype, that is, the topic that all people have been facing for a long time. Then the road, on the one hand, can be a connection between different points, and on the other, it can reflect deeply inner experiences.

For a resident of some ancient village to follow the road meant to leave his native village and go to another. Hence one of the main symbolic meanings of the road - the road is the border between one's own and another's world. A border is something that connects and separates at the same time.

Human life, the path we follow is also a kind of border (space, territory) between our own and another world. Speaking of two worlds, we can think of the journey from birth to death. And almost all religious traditions deal with the journey of the soul to the afterlife.

Within the framework of his life, a person has the opportunity to make another “journey” from his world to the world of another. It is the process of separating from your parents, in other words, it is the process of growing up. Modern society offers more and more opportunities to increase the length of childhood. Perhaps this is a reaction to modern stage development of society - a consumer society. Maybe that's why in modern world the rites of passage (initiation) that existed in all cultures have lost their power. In the very general view these rituals assumed that the growing member of the tribe at the appointed time should leave his tribe and for some time, being in this "other world", he had to go through a series of trials, and the elders of the tribe introduced him to the mythology of their tribe. An important component of these initiation rites was the symbolic encounter with death. In the process of this rite of initiation, great changes took place in the inner life of a person; for him, initiation was the path that takes him from childhood to adulthood. Therefore, at the end of the initiation, the person returned to his village already completely different, adult and ready to create his own family. Therefore, the rites of initiation well reflect another important symbolic meaning of the road - it is a symbol of transformation, overcoming, realization and liberation. The well-known aphorism “when you return from a trip, you will never be the same” is rooted here.

In the culture of many peoples, one can find a common universal mythological plot in which a certain hero, often the most a common person, begins his journey and in the process of this journey he faces various trials and miraculously transforms his inner qualities and views of the world. His life becomes more conscious. Joseph Campbell called this mythology "the hero's journey". This story is found in many myths of various peoples, for example, in a series of stories about the Buddha. But this plot is found not only in myths and fairy tales, but also in the work of modern authors. It can be traced in the plots of films " Star Wars”, “The Hobbit”, “Harry Potter”, “The Lion King” and many others. In these plots, we are faced with the symbolism of the road as a life path, a symbol of transformation, becoming, the road as a metaphor for finding one's place in life. From the point of view of Joseph Campbell, this other world, where the hero finds himself, corresponds to the unconscious. In this sense, as soon as the hero overcomes the first threshold, he enters the territory of his own unconscious and begins to find allies in this world, to transform something, to overcome something, to fight with someone, to find something. From this point of view, for the hero who has gone his own way, his own unconscious becomes more explored. With a successful passage, he becomes the ruler of two worlds. And here we come to the symbolism of the road as a way to oneself, a way of self-knowledge. Therefore, in many fairy tales, the hero sets off on a journey.

Speaking of the road, we are faced with an existential theme. The road we are on often offers us a choice of where to go next. And the way we choose will determine what we become. In this regard, every time in a situation of choice, we are faced with a choice between different versions of our Self, potential variants of the Self. And when we choose and go through the path, we will translate this potentiality into reality. Some of these potential selves will become real, while the rest of the selves will remain unrealized. And here we are faced with the theme of not only freedom (which road to take?), but also responsibility. Responsibility to myself (which way I go, I will become one), but also social responsibility (deciding to go down some road, I make it more trodden, and it will be easier for others to follow it too). From this position, the road is a good metaphor for designating the basic existential givens of being: awareness of finiteness (the road of our life will someday end), lack of meaning (we are not told what the meaning of this or that road is, we ourselves give meaning to which path we choose ), freedom (we can choose any road or pave our own), responsibility (deciding to go down one road, at that moment we cannot go down another; by choosing one, we abandon the other), existential loneliness (since we are formed in the process of our path, then in order for someone to fully understand me, he must go exactly my way the way I did. That is, he must live life the way I lived it, and this is impossible. In this regard, we can only be understood by others to a certain extent.)

It turns out that the road with its symbolism sends us to the questions of our being. And then this image can help us in the search for answers to both vital important questions, and in orientation, how we want to develop further. Communication with a psychologist through the image of the road can be surprisingly fruitful for working with the topic of psychological maturation, overcoming periods of crisis, for working with existential topics, for modeling your future.
