Education plays a significant role in the biography of Sergei Anatolyevich. In 1979, Kolesnikov went to school No. 63, from which he graduated in 1989. After receiving the certificate, the young man enters the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, graduating from which in 1995 he receives the specialty of an engineer-physicist.

Career and business of Sergey Kolesnikov

Sergey Kolesnikov, at the age of 18, together with his friend Igor Rybakov, begins to earn money by repairing roofs to order. The impetus for starting his own business in his student years, namely in 1992, was a large order: it was necessary to replace the roof of the roof of the shoe factory in Kimry.

Having assessed the market prospects, the future businessman determines his future activities and, together with Rybakov, with whom he is in close contact to this day, registers the TechnoNIKOL company for the production of roofing, as well as building materials to insulate houses, after which in 1994 they acquire an old roofing plant in Vyborg, modernize it and begin to manufacture products.

At the beginning of their journey for the production of roofing, the partners “copied” European standards, developments and production technologies. Within 5 years after the purchase of the plant, 4 production and 35 retail outlets are added to the company.

In 2001, TechnoNIKOL buys the Gargzdu MIDA plant in Lithuania, which starts producing shingles under the SHINGLAS brand.

In 2005, the company took first place in the production of building materials in Europe.

Now the company consists of 53 factories located in different parts of the world, including Russia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Scotland, Italy and Belarus. The company's products are exported to 95 countries. And the number of employees reached 5.8 thousand.

According to Kolesnikov himself, the secret of such great success lies in the constant improvement of the skills of employees and the level of product quality, as well as in the exchange of experience with other countries.

In 2016, Sergey Anatolyevich buys Superglass Holdings PLS, the largest manufacturer of glass wool. A year later, he acquires the Borner corporation, which specializes in the production of waterproofing materials.

Recently there was news that he and his partner are going to triple the sales of products in Asia.

In his free time, Sergey Anatolyevich goes in for biathlon, football and regularly participates in sailing competitions with his team - TechnoNIKOL maintains a team that participates in boating. The team includes both professional athletes and ordinary amateurs who have been involved in boating for many years. About $50,000 is spent on the maintenance of the boat and on the fees of the athletes.

The businessman is also involved in charity work. Kolesnikov is a sponsor of many biathlon schools in Ryazan and Ulyanovsk. In 2012, he built a school in Ryazan with his own money, and in his hometown, Sergei Anatolyevich built a biathlon stadium for 70 million rubles.

At the beginning of 2015, a draft of some amendments to the bill N260190-6 was submitted to the State Duma, which provided for amendments to Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The team of Sergei Anatolyevich was involved in the preparation of the changes. In June of the same year, Kolesnikov became the head of the Antimonopoly Law Council of the Delovaya Rossiya organization.

In 2015, Sergei Kolesnikov was presented with the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin for his service to society.

Sergey Anatolyevich is one of the supporters and popularizers of the kaizen entrepreneurial philosophy, the idea of which is to constantly strive to eliminate any kind of losses in production. The businessman has been introducing this idea into his corporation since 2005.

It is impossible not to say about his books, written jointly with other authors. At the moment there are two of them: “TechnoNIKOL is the main role. Episodes, portraits, meanings”, published in 2014, and “ Efficient production in Russia? Yes!” published in 2015. Sergey Anatolyevich today

Now the businessman and his team are expanding the TechnoNIKOL company, which is often mentioned in the news. In addition, Sergey Anatolyevich invests in the development of sports and in many enterprises. For example, the company recently invested more than 160 million rubles in the development of the Ryazan plant for the production of stone wool.

The TechnoNIKOL corporation makes money on the production of roofing, heat-insulating and other materials that are needed to ensure that nothing leaks in the house and does not blow anywhere. But the head of the corporation, Sergei Kolesnikov, is looking for something completely different: he will gladly exchange a Mediterranean villa for a tent in the Ural forest, and he will prefer a sailboat competition in the Baltic Sea, from where you definitely won’t get out dry, to a walk on a yacht. By the way, the day before the interview, the businessman returned to Moscow just after such a regatta. During the shooting, the photographer had to run after him along the ski-roller track - Kolesnikov is seriously interested in biathlon and even built two biathlon stadiums: in Ryazan and his native Ulyanovsk. The businessman told Forbes Life where he goes in search of adrenaline and why he dreams of birch trees in the Seychelles.

About sailing

On the 14th of June I returned from Tallinn, where the Estonian Open Championship was held in the ORC class. 13 crews participated, and our boat "TechnoNIKOL" won in two competitions. So we got off to a good start this season, given that two European champions competed against us in Tallinn. This summer we are planning three more starts: the Italian Championship, the World Championship in the ORC class (it will also be held in Italy) and in August - the royal regatta that Copa Del Rey in Spain.

The TechnoNIKOL team has professional athletes who are chasing money, the rest are advanced amateurs who have been sailing for many years, so our crew is experienced. In general, the maintenance of the boat, taking into account the fees of sports shifts, takes $ 50,000 a year.

In the team, I work on the forecastle as the second number, but sometimes also the main forecastle (the bow sailor works with a staysail - a front sail - and a spinnaker - an additional sail. - Forbes Life). On the boat, everything obeys the word of the captain. And almost always it is really one word: for example, he says: “Turn!” - and the crew silently acts.

"I command so much ordinary life that for me there is no discomfort when someone who is more experienced and more professional than me is in charge of the boat”

Somehow I met Vladimir Nikitin, the owner of the Mirame yacht. This is an old wooden boat built in Helsinki in 1910 and used by the Imperial Yacht Club. We often went on it across the Baltic, and in 2008, after such cruises, the idea of participating in competitions arose. We rented a boat in France and signed up for several starts. Everyone lost, of course. In the worst case, they came last, at best - second or third from the end. Then we got acquainted with Estonian athletes, and together we began to perform much better. In August 2010, we already won the world championship in the X41 class - this was our first high-profile victory. Now our task is to repeat the success in the ORC class.

We win - we rejoice. Emotions were enough for one night, everything was forgotten on Monday. If today you took a high place, then tomorrow you are already an ordinary athlete. We play about - do not get upset. It's a sport, anything can happen.

About hikes and rafting

We live in a stone jungle - office, factory, airports, and everywhere a huge number of people. Therefore, sometimes you want to break out into nature. Since 1994, I have been trying to go rafting with my family every year. I went through a lot of routes: I started in the Southern Urals, rafted down Belaya three times. Especially good in May. It happens that you swim along the river, and above you is an arch of bird cherry. On sunny days, it begins to bloom, rays break through it, you inhale the aroma of bird cherry - and then there is a feeling of paradise.

One day in January, I decided to go through the Seychelles on a rented boat. It was hard. There was no air conditioning on the sailboat; because of the heat, it was only possible to sleep from one in the morning until five in the morning. And at night I dreamed of birch trees and the Ural Mountains. So it is much more pleasant to travel around Russia. Mountains attract me the most. When I fly to Khabarovsk, for example, I can look at the mountain ranges below for hours.

We walked along the Altai, rafted along the Katun - this is a cult river for those who go in for rafting. We went east, to Tyva. We got to Sakhalin and Kamchatka. Of course, rafting there does not give such adrenaline as in Altai or in the Sayan mountains, but it is also safer, so you can take your children with you. There are crazy beautiful mountains, amazing nature. And very nice fishing - it's hard not to catch anything. My daughter enjoyed catching loaches and mykizha. There was not a day that we did not see a bear in Kamchatka. Sometimes they go straight to the camp, and once I ran into a bear at a distance of six meters. He looked at me with curiosity, and I at him. So they looked at each other and slowly dispersed. In general, Kamchatka is worth visiting.

All family members and, most importantly, my wife share my hobbies. Three months before the wedding, I first took her with me to the river in the Southern Urals - it was about 19 years ago, and since then she has practically never refused such trips. Often she suggests some routes. We also take children with us. They set up their own tents, sort out their backpacks, and even my twelve-year-old daughter Masha does not lag behind adults in hiking.

At school with the class, we went camping every summer. We had the same practice in our student years. Then they somehow calmed down - everyone has families, children, work. But, when I am in my native Ulyanovsk, I often ask everyone to get together, and the class responds with pleasure. Often we gather for no reason, just to have dinner together, and at one of these meetings someone suggested resuming our trips. Many supported - half the class gathered. And so last year we walked 30 km in the west of the Ulyanovsk region over the weekend. Some were even with children, who, however, were already twenty years old.

About biathlon

I have an Izhevsk BI74 rifle - it is quite simple to operate. Shooting performance is gradually improving. I'm working on speed and accuracy. Accuracy is growing, but slowly: 70% of hits lying down, 60% - standing. Sometimes I train three times a week - at our stadiums in Ryazan or Ulyanovsk, and sometimes once a month. The rifle is always in a gun safe, you can shoot empty on the simulator.

Of course, in the process of preparing for the ski-biathlon season, I train hard, but I wouldn’t call it camps - I don’t have the opportunity to set aside 2-3 weeks for this, like professional athletes. They have training after training - there is no free time. Sometimes I train twice a day and on the third day I can’t look at the skis - it’s just disgusting. I can hardly force myself.

There was a very consumer attitude towards Mikhail Prokhorov when he headed the Russian Biathlon Union. They didn’t even say thank you to him, they also scolded him after the Olympiad. The most useful thing that the president of the union (Alexander Kravtsov - Forbes Life) can do today is to increase funding, primarily for children's sports. It is important to increase the number of children's sports schools and not to kill children, not to try to get them out of them up to a maximum of 16 years. In the Soviet system, at the age of 14 we were very heavily loaded, we were like consumable, worked for wear and tear - even my heart could not stand it at one moment. It seems to me that until the age of 16, you need to build strength and technique, and after that, increase the functional load. When a person grows, it is already difficult for him - all body systems change. Let more children do it - even if they don't become champions, they will be healthy people.

“The biathlon stadium that we built in Ulyanovsk with a 2.5 km circle and standing stands cost about 70 million rubles. In Ryazan - comparable money. If such stadiums are built with state money, it will cost 300–500 million.”

In the summer I go rollerblading. For example, on Planernaya they made a very difficult circle. Up-down, up-down - a drop of 148 m on a circle of 2.5 km. This is quite a lot even for men. Flat place only in the stadium. Very exhausting.

The most difficult track I've run on is in Finnish Kontiolahti, where the Biathlon World Cup is held. For veteran competitions, the route is slightly changed there: instead of the famous steep “wall”, you have to overcome a more gentle, but long climb. But even after it, most athletes of our age get very tired. Even those who used to perform at very high level. This year he also participated in the World Veteran Championship there. Our team won the relay.

I already understand that I won’t be an Olympic champion, so I don’t have a permanent goal to win. The main thing is to run well for yourself, show a decent time or just not lose too much to someone who is objectively stronger.

About family

Afterword

Now the children have an interesting period: the eldest son is a student, the middle one is sent to England for the summer to learn the language, the daughters are actively involved in sports dancing, and when I go to their training, I look with great respect at what they do. So even in their schedule, finding free time for traveling together is not easy. Although the older children are already becoming independent and it is difficult to get somewhere with them, the younger ones are happy to join us. But everyone went to Kamchatka, except for the youngest daughter, because she is not yet seven years old. The children were delighted.

The main sport in my life right now is sleep. Recovery. I try to sleep 7-8 hours, but it doesn't always work out. If for working week I don't get enough sleep, I get enough sleep on weekends. There are two parts to any sport: exercise and recovery. And this is not only a dream, but also proper nutrition. Meat is eaten during the day, not in the evening. Don't overeat. Be sure to massage, bath once a week and so on.

Sergei Kolesnikov - a native of a simple Soviet family - while still a student, he realized that the only way to break into people is own business. Reference! For active community service for the improvement of Russian antimonopoly legislation in 2015, the businessman received the gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin.

He is fond of biathlon, participates in competitions in sailing regattas, carries out patronage activities in the direction of supporting Russian sports, for which in 2015 he was awarded a commemorative sign "Patron and Benefactor of the Year".

The entrepreneur himself considers his significant successes in business, social activities, and sports to be the result of many years of hard work. Secrets of Sergey Kolesnikov's success in his interview

How the TechnoNIKOL corporation was born

On February 25, 1972, a son, Sergei, was born into a family of Ulyanovsk workers. After graduating from high school, like dozens of other boys, he entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Physics.

In a university dormitory, he met his future business partner, Igor Rybakov. During the first summer holidays friends decided to earn extra money and placed an ad in the newspaper about the installation and repair of the roof.

“We needed a job for 3-4 months to earn money for the coming school year. In addition to the manufacture and repair of roofs, we did not know how to do anything that was required at that time in Russia.

So the first roof appeared, a year later - the second. In 1992, through acquaintances, young roofers managed to get the first major order - the repair of the roof of a shoe factory in the city of Kimry. Then friends understand the need to register a company. So there was a small company "TechnoNIKOL".

Reference! In 1993, Sergei Kolesnikov and his partner needed a large batch of membrane coatings to repair the roof. They placed an order, but only the Uchalinsky plant in Bashkiria agreed to fulfill it, which was mainly engaged in despair: more than half production capacity enterprises were idle. Roofing students became interested in roofing equipment and soon realized that it could be reconfigured for the production of membranes. Then the partners had the idea of buying out and upgrading one of their Soviet factories.

For the next 2 years, the partners worked actively and saved money, and in 1994 they acquired the first plant for the production of roofing and waterproofing materials in Vyborg. It became the starting point for the geographical expansion of the TechnoNIKOL enterprise in Russia.

The formation of a giant enterprise

The affairs of a small enterprise went uphill: despite the crisis, people needed roofs, and the newly minted entrepreneurs realized the need for expansion.

In 1997, the first branch of TechnoNIKOL was opened in Belarus, and in 1999 a plant in Ukraine began to operate.
